The battery contains more than one cells in either series or parallel or both. When the battery gets discharged if all the cells discharge at different rates, the voltage of each cell is different when the battery is fully discharged. Now if the battery is charged connecting only 2 wires all the cells cannot be charged properly because all the cells are in series or parallel. The battery balancer provides solution to this problem.
